When their beloved shepherd is found dead, a flock of sheep set out to solve the mystery themselves using what they’ve learned from the crime novels he used read to them every night.
While it centers around a murder mystery, the movie is surprisingly warm and touching, balancing lots of comedy against themes of grief, memory, and growing up. It seems that voice-acting continues to pay well this year, with yet another loaded voice-cast. (Featuring Hugh Jackman, Emma Thompson, Bryan Cranston, Patrick Stewart, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus)
The Sheep Detectives has become one of the highest-reviewed family films of the year thanks to its quick pace, sharp writing, warm humor, and displaying some genuine heart.
