Our Halloween Weekend…

The Wild

This is our pre-Halloween weekend and do we have some scary excitement for you.

To start with, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (Oct 27-29) we will be showing Disney’s “A Haunting in Venice”. All show times are at 8:00PM.

“A Haunting in Venice” is set in eerie, post-World War II Venice on All Hallows’ Eve and is a terrifying mystery featuring the return of the celebrated sleuth, Hercule Poirot. Now retired and living in self-imposed exile in the world’s most glamorous city, Poirot reluctantly attends a séance at a decaying, haunted palazzo. When one of the guests is murdered, the detective is thrust into a sinister world of shadows and secrets.

Rating: PG-13 (Some Strong Violence | Disturbing Images | Thematic Elements)

Runtime: 1h 43m

Reviews have been quite positive with one reviewer saying: “A darker and spookier spin on Branagh’s Poirot, A Haunting in Venice is a decent Halloween snack whose undemanding mystery gets a lift from nifty visuals and an all-star cast.”

Our Halloween weekend continues on Monday (Oct 30th at 8:00PM) with our special event “The Wild”. This Saskatchewan made independent film is about a girl names Josie who enlists best friend and unofficial chauffeur Stanley, to search for clues after her sister, Andrea, mysteriously goes missing from a bar in the next town over. Eccentric roaming artists, less-than-helpful locals, and a shadowy secret society lead to more clues than answers but one thing keeps coming back; The Wild. Maybe there is more to the family curse that has lingered over Josie’s head all these years.

Not only is this movie created in and by Saskatchewan people, but Aaron Sinclair, (the writer and director) will be in attendance at the Falkon Theatre on Monday Oct 30th and will do a Q&A following the film. If you have ever had questions about making a movie, this is your time to get the answers.
