Did you know that Tisdale is the home of Tornados? That’s right. Our school teams are called the Tornados. (Even though, as far as I know we’ve never actually had a tornado in the town.) Regardless, it is only appropriate that a tornado movie should be a special event at the Falkon Theatre.
Twisters is showing Friday, Saturday and Sunday (Aug 9-11) at 8:00PM each night. However, we have a special treat this weekend. Greg Johnson, TornadoHunter.ca from the Tornado Hunters TV show will be in attendance to talk Tornados and everything weather. Make sure and arrive early (by 7:30) to meet Greg and learn what tornado chasing is all about. Following the movie he will stick around and answer any questions you might have.
So, what’s Twisters about?
It is a sequel to the 1996 movie Twister. (I guess like Aliens was a sequel to Alien?)
Kate Cooper, a former storm chaser haunted by a devastating encounter with a tornado during her college years who now studies storm patterns on screens safely in New York City. She is lured back to the open plains by her friend, Javi to test a groundbreaking new tracking system. There, she crosses paths with Tyler Owens, the charming and reckless social-media superstar who thrives on posting his storm-chasing adventures with his raucous crew, the more dangerous the better. As storm season intensifies, terrifying phenomena never seen before are unleashed, and Kate, Tyler and their competing teams find themselves squarely in the paths of multiple storm systems converging over central Oklahoma in the fight of their lives.
