This weekend we are featuring the movie A Man Called Otto starring Tom Hanks.
Before I give you the synopsis of this movie I wanted to let you know that one of underlying themes in the movie is suicide. If you watch the trailer you will get the impression that this is just a fun movie about a grumpy guy. You need to know going in that suicide is attempted in this movie. I wanted to make sure everyone knew this, as suicide is a important topic in our community and I want people to know that there could be triggers for some.
This movie is based on the comical and moving New York Times bestseller, A Man Called Otto tells the story of Otto Anderson (Tom Hanks), a grumpy widower whose only joy comes from criticizing and judging his exasperated neighbors. When a lively young family moves in next door, he meets his match in quick-witted and very pregnant Marisol, leading to an unexpected friendship that will turn his world upside-down.
