I know that this Saturday there is a ladies night out… Seems like the perfect opportunity for the guys to catch a show. It sounds like this movie has some John Wick vibes to it, but the violence level of Monkey Man has been described as “The Works!”
Inspired by the legend of Hanuman, an icon embodying strength and courage, Monkey Man stars Dev Patel (from Slumdog Millionaire) as an anonymous young man who ekes out a meager living in an underground fight club where, night after night, wearing a gorilla mask, he is beaten bloody by more popular fighters for cash. After years of suppressed rage, he discovers a way to infiltrate the enclave of the city’s sinister elite. As his childhood trauma boils over, his mysteriously scarred hands unleash an explosive campaign of retribution to settle the score with the men who took everything from him.
Critics and Audiences are loving it with one reviewer saying: Monkey Man‘s exciting action scenes hit even harder thanks to a really well-written and emotional story.
