This film has been making waves in theatres, so I knew I had to bring it in. With a 97% positive rating and over $300 million at the box office, Sinners is now one of the highest-grossing horror films of all time.

My wife happened to be in Regina and caught an early screening—and she absolutely loved it (and she’s not even a horror fan!). She raved about the powerful story and the incredible music. My son says he can’t stop playing the soundtrack—it’s been his go-to on Spotify for weeks.

Sinners is a Southern Gothic horror set in the Jim Crow-era South. Michael B. Jordan delivers a gripping performance in a dual role as twin brothers, Smoke and Stack, WWI veterans and former members of Al Capone’s gang. Hoping to start fresh, they return to their hometown with a stash of Capone’s cash and dreams of opening a juke joint in an abandoned sawmill. But when a mysterious man named Remmick (Jack O’Connell) arrives, they find themselves face to face with a terrifying evil. As one preacher warns, “You keep dancing with the devil—one day he’s going to follow you home.”

One reviewer summed it up perfectly:
“This was outstanding. I knew absolutely nothing about this film and was floored by everything that happened. Incredible performances. A master class of talent all around.”
