The toys first came out in 1984 when I was 15. By that point I was more interested in girls than robots. It wasn’t until the Michael Bay movie came out in 2007 (when my boys were young) that I started to follow the franchise. I think it took a bit of a wrong turn in the middle, but Bumblebee in 2018 started to get things back on track. The latest Transformers movie is a direct follow-up of 2018\u2019s Bumblebee (as teased by its post-credits scene). Returning to the action and spectacle that have captured moviegoers around the world, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will take audiences on a ’90s globetrotting adventure with the Autobots and introduce a whole new faction of Transformer — the Maximals — to the existing battle on earth between Autobots and Decepticons.
