I have had the opportunity to watch Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga and it did not disappoint. This movie has amazing visuals and incredible sound. The story is broken into chapters and at no time are you bored. It begins with Furiosa as a little girl. (Played expertly by Alyla Browne) And follows through her life right up the beginning of Fury Road.
Charlize Theron was so good as Furiosa in Fury Road, and I i wasn’t sure how this one was going to stack up, but Anya Taylor-Joy picks up the torch and runs with it. She is spectacular. This might be one of the best acting performances I’ve seen from Chris Hemsworth, playing the unhinged character of Dementus. Plus you get some of the characters from the original like Immortan Joe.
Director George Miller hits another home run with Furiosa. I love that he still uses some sped up scenes, like he has since the original Mad Max.
If you like trucks and motorbikes and action you will love this movie. It puts the gas pedal to the floor and never takes it off.
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga plays at the Falkon Theatre Friday – Sunday (June 21 – 23) at 8:00PM nightly.
